I'M ENGAGED

I'm sure that some of you have been waiting for this post; I know I've been excited to write it! I just haven't had a ton of extra time lately between school, work, and wedding planning! BUT today I found the time, so here it goes!

So Friday, May 8 at approximately 10:30 pm (MST) the love of my life asked me to marry him! It was incredible! I have been asked a few times how it happened, so I'll give you the FULL story right here, right now. Buckle up and get excited!

May 8th happened to be Steven's dad's birthday*, so we had plans to go to dinner with his parents and younger sister (Emily). We had a lovely dinner and then we got frozen yogurt after. After yogurt, Steven and I parted ways from his family and we were deciding what we should do for the rest of the night. We talked about watching some Netflix (our favorite pastime) or renting a Redbox movie, but we decided we wanted to do something outside instead. He mentioned going and taking a look at the construction going on at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple (he's going to be an architect, so I figured that would be something really interesting for him) and I happily agreed that we should do that.

{Fast-forward to after we drove by the temple because all of the construction is on the inside}

He drove us over to the green belt on the other side of the temple, it is super beautiful and has waterfalls and stuff! Here's a picture that I did not take (thanks google), but that shows you all what it looks like:

So we are there walking the green belt, and as we were walking our way back he pulled me to sit by him on a bench where we talked for a really long time. It was getting pretty chilly and he said something about how we should go soon, so I was standing up and getting ready to head back to the car when he pulled me back down to the bench and reached in his pocket and gave me a look, at which point, I FREAKED OUT. If I remember correctly I said something along the lines of "REALLY? now?! it is really happening now?!" to which he calmly replied,  "yeah, it's happening now." You know how the rest goes! He said a bunch of really sweet things about how he will always love me and take care of me etc. and then he got on one knee and asked me to marry him!

It was a perfect proposal, neither of us wanted anything super flashy and we both wanted it to be a personal moment that we shared together and it was just that. 100% everything I have ever imagined it would be. We then had some teens take a picture of us because how do you not take a picture at this time? Turns out those kids STINK at taking pictures, so we also took a selfie and here it is:

Oh, also I am OBSESSED with my ring. Steven picked it all on his own and I absolutely love it! Here it is:

All I know is that I am SO excited to marry Steven. He is the best person and I feel so lucky to have met him. Eternity is looking pretty amazing right now because it gets to be with this stud:

So there it is! The proposal story.

*he told me we definitely wouldn't get engaged this day because it was his dad's day and he didn't want to steal his thunder... cool Steven, really cool.

I love you all and I hope this post wasn't too long to handle!
